Doha, Qatar: This October, Qatar National Library (QNL) reaffirms its commitment to lifelong learning and cultural dialogue with a diverse schedule of events featuring academic mentorship, expert panel discussions and creative workshops.

On October 4, QNL resumes its Murshidi Programme, which connects high school and university students with expert mentors from Education City and its distinguished alumni network. The programme offers one-on-one guidance on university applications, scholarships and career planning. A second session will follow on October 11.

On October 7, QNL presents “Women in Al-Andalus and Palestine: From Marginalization to Influence,” a panel discussion exploring the historical, cultural, and social role of women from the fall of Al-Andalus to the modern Palestinian experience. Scholars Dr. Fadwa El-Haziti and Dr. Basma Dajani will examine how women have preserved identity and culture, and shown resilience in the face of displacement.

On October 8, the Library will host “The Role of Digital Content Creators in Preserving Qatar’s Memory,” a panel featuring Qatari creators who use modern media to document and celebrate the nation’s heritage. Participants include chef Mohammed Lari, photographer and environmental researcher Hamad Al Khulaifi, and Al Thuraya Media founder Mutaz Nivas.

On October 11, QNL will screen “The Wound of Return” as part of its Cultural Mosaic series, in collaboration with Alaraby TV. The documentary follows Palestinian families returning to northern Gaza after the January 2025 ceasefire. Part of the Library’s broader Keys to Palestine initiative, the screening explores themes of resilience, memory, and the power of storytelling.

On  October 15, the Library hosts the latest edition of the Librarians for Libraries series, titled “School Library: A Platform for Empowering Learners in the Digital Age.” The workshop will explore how school libraries can support digital literacy, information navigation, and inclusive learning in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

On October 21, QNL hosts Make with Me, Chile Edition, an interactive crafting and art-making session as part of the Qatar Argentina and Chile 2025 Year of Culture.

On  October 29, the Philharmonic at the Library concert series returns with “An Argentine Journey for String Quartet”, a celebration of Argentine music as part of the Qatar Argentina and Chile 2025 Year of Culture.

On  October 30, QNL will host Chile Storytime: “When the Moai Walked,” a creative workshop inspired by the legendary stone statues of Rapa Nui. The session will feature storytelling, music and art, offering children the opportunity to participate in entertaining hands-on activities.

From October 27 to 30, the AI Club and Science Book Forum invite children to explore programming through storytelling. The workshop, titled “Programming Adventures: Create Your Digital Story” teaches young participants to use Scratch to build interactive digital stories.
