Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is holding an environmental camp at Kahramaa Awareness Park to educate people about the importance of preserving the environment.

The camp is being held by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry in cooperation with the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) and the Barzan Girls Forum from July 31 to August 7.

The camp aims to spread environmental awareness among the community members to achieve the goals of sustainable development, through interactive workshops to recycle waste.

The camp includes workshops and lectures for youngsters, including a workshop entitled ‘my creations from my waste’ (household - electronic).

The lectures will focus on introducing the members to the damages of plastic and identifying the symbols and numbers of plastic, in addition to lectures on purifying the air of the house with plants to raise awareness about the identification of toxic gases present in our homes through certain plants.

The lecture will be delivered by the environmental researcher Suzan Mohamed Essam from the Public Relations Department of the Ministry Environment and Climate Change.

The National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) also organised various activities at Kahramaa Awareness Park, which included training on 3D cinema, in addition to interactive educational games for the members of the Barzan Girls Forum.
