DOHA: The Centre for Endowment Studies of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has issued the third book of ‘Endowment Provisions in Islamic Sharia’.
In a statement yesterday, the center affirmed that the book is the debut university publication that fathoms out endowment provisions. It granted its writer Dr. Mohammed Ubaid Abdullah Al Kubaisi PhD degree in Comparative Jurisprudence, with first-class honours, in 1977.
Al Kubaisi presented a superb scientific work in terms of comprehensive collection, inclusion of different jurisprudential opinions, clarification of their evidence, and detailing the most reliable sources and references.
Director General of the General Directorate of Endowments Dr Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al Thani said the book comes as part of the centre's keenness to entrench the provisions of endowments in Islamic Sharia, promote the institution of endowments and underline its importance among individuals from all segments of society.
He added that the book is one of the most important contemporary sources on endowments and their provisions, and it is among the most comprehensive books detailing its intricacies and specifics. It has been embraced by scholars who have greatly benefited from it, affirming unwavering commitment to achieving excellence in endowment studies and research, especially in overall Islamic finance.
