Doha: Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), yesterday organised a Ramadan dinner banquet under the patronage of H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chairperson, ROTA Board of Directors.
The event was held at the old Civil Defence Building as part of ROTA Ramadan 2015 project to collect donations to support education of Yemeni children suffering the ravages of the political conflict.
Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, ROTA Board Member, over 100 Qatari women and members of Qatar Leadership Centre Alumni Association, chaired by Sheikha Al Mayassa, were present. The association contributed QR120,000 to support ROTA projects in Yemen.
About QR20,000 from the donation was allocated to support the campaign of ROTA Goodwill Ambassador Ghanim Al Muftah, which aims to support Palestinian refugee children at Nahr Al Bared Palestinian camp in Lebanon.
In coordination with Qatar-Turkey 2015 Year of Culture, the event featured a silent auction of artworks and about QR450,000 which will go to ROTA’s education projects in Yemen. QNA
