DOHA: Prasana shined with a dazzling century as Gafar CC trounced Master CC by 52 runs in the West End Park Challenge Cup T20, here at the West End Park Stadium.
After winning the toss, Gafar posted a massive total of 207-2, after a fiery knock by Prasana who smashed a quickfire 106.
Saman (41) was the other main scorer as Gafar CC took control of the game after a superb batting display.
In reply, Master CC could only muster 155 runs in 18.5 overs.
Chamara (43) Ali (23) were the main contributors for Master CC.
On the other hand, Sumudhu (3 wickets for 17 runs) & Marso (3 wickets for 20 runs) were in impressive bowling form as Gafar claimed an impressive victory.
Prasana was named Man-of- the-Match for his sparkling century.
The second match between United Challengers and Gulf Contracting CC proved a close contest.
Choosing to bat, the United Challengers scored 149-8 in the stipulated 20 overs.
Shakir was the key performer with an innings of 65 while Upul (23) was the other main scorer.
For Gulf Contracting CC, Raja looked brilliant in his figures of 4-29. Alam claimed a brace of wickets after conceding 25 runs.
Gulf’s Raja added to his bowling prowess to deliver a man of the match performance with 61 runs, team-mate Asok added 23 to the total. Satish who took one wicket after giving away 13 runs helped United Challengers to claim victory. David (1 wicket for 20 runs) was the other star in victory.

West End Park Stadium will be hosting the Challenge Cup until its conclusion on July 5.
Sixteen teams from the Qatar Cricket Association B & C Divisions are participating in the tournament.
