The State of Qatar, as a mediator in the ongoing Chadian peace negotiations in Doha, announces that the negotiations, which were launched in Doha on the thirteenth of last March, are progressing at a good pace and making tangible progress.
In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the Transitional Military Council of the Republic of Chad to postpone the comprehensive national dialogue, to be held in the capital, N'Djamena, on the tenth of May.
The ministry clarifies that the call for postponement comes on the basis of the current data in the Doha negotiations, in order to give the participating parties more time to reach a peace agreement in preparation for the convening of the comprehensive national dialogue in N'Djamena.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates Qatar's full support for Chad's efforts in this political process, in order to achieve the aspirations of its people for peace, security and stability. It also expresses its appreciation for the commitment of the Military Council and the Chadian government to the course of the Doha peace negotiations in Chad.
