Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) continued to intensify its field visits to public and private schools for the second consecutive day as students returned to their classrooms for in-person learning.

These visits aim to monitor the progress of the educational process and the extent of schools’ commitment to implementing the preventive measures, procedures, and guidelines in place for student safety and security.

MoEHE Undersecretary H E Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi visited five schools yesterday, during which he met with school administrations and attended part of the classes to ensure that students were settled in their seats and that the natural course of education had resumed.

The visit, in which he was accompanied by Maha Zayed Al-Qaqa’ Al-Ruwaili, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, included Ibn Taymiyyah Secondary School for Boys, Talha bin Abdullah Preparatory School for Boys, Qatar Secondary School of Banking and Business Administration for Girls, Doha British School, and ACS International School.

In a press statement, Dr. Al-Nuaimi stressed that the goal of the visit was to inspect the students’ conditions, support them, and reassure the community that our schools are safe and stable environments equipped with the best preventive equipment necessary to maintain the safety of students.

He noted that conditions are now more conducive than ever for the educational process to return to normal, marking a step toward recovery after the exceptional circumstances witnessed by the country so we may resume our educational journey together with diligence and hard work.

Dr. Al-Nuaimi also praised the role of teachers, school leaders, and administrators, valuing their efforts in maintaining the continuity of the educational process during the distance learning period.

He noted that the education system is characterised by readiness, flexibility, and adaptability, supported by a digital infrastructure meeting the best international standards and competent leadership cadres working in harmony with other state institutions to ensure safety and security.

The Ministry has completed all preparations for the students’ return to in-person learning, beginning with the teaching and administrative staff, who were trained by the General Directorate of Civil Defense at the Ministry of Interior on how to apply safety instructions and precautionary evacuation in emergencies and exceptional circumstances within educational institutions, as well as the optimal ways to act during evacuation or sheltering.

They were also trained on how to use emergency exits, evacuation routes, and assembly points, and the best ways to behave when receiving alerts via the National Warning System, in preparation for the students’ return to in-person classes while adhering to approved security and safety procedures.
