Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) held the draw for the Amateur Cup Championship 2025-26 season at the association’s headquarters on Monday, in the presence of representatives of the eight participating teams.
Speaking at the occasion, Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, QFA's Deputy Director of Competitions and Players Affairs congratulated the top eight teams in the league standings on qualifying for the 2026 Amateur Cup competitions.
Khalid Al Rumaihi of QFA’s Competitions Department explained the details of the competitions, while Abdulaziz Al Ansari conducted the draw, which resulted in the teams being divided into two groups (A and B).
The first group includes Al Abeeb, Al Jasra, Al Shaqab and Al Nasr, while the second group comprises of Doha, Msheireb, Al Riffa and Al Rumaila, with the group stage matches to be held in a single round-robin format.
The tournament will kick off on Friday at the Doha Stadium and will continue through three rounds of the group stage until April 18, 2026.
The semi-finals will take place on April 24 and 25, where the first of Group (A) will meet the second of Group (B), and the first of Group (B) will meet the second of Group (A).
In the opening match on April 4, Leabaib will play Al Nasr, while Doha will face Al Rumaila.
The matches will also be held on April 11 and April 12, before the tournament concludes with the third and fourth place matches on May 2 and the final to be held on May 3 at Qatar University courts.
