Doha: As part of ongoing oversight efforts, the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs conducted periodic inspection tours.
These operations resulted in the detection of five unlicensed Umrah tour operating offices working without official permits; necessary legal action has been taken against them.
The Ministry emphasised that these tours are part of its strategic plan to enhance compliance with regulations governing the Umrah sector. It stressed that practicing this activity without a license is a clear violation that warrants legal accountability.
The Department highlighted the importance of dealing exclusively with licensed offices and warned against engaging with any entities not approved by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, citing risks such as procedural errors or the loss of legal rights.
The Ministry urged the public to ensure there is a clear and complete contract with the licensed office, review all contract details thoroughly before completing registration and verify credentials to guarantee the protection of rights and the safety of all procedures.
