Orphans Care Centre 'Dhreima' has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Doha-based Humanitarian Funds of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to develop strategic work of the centre.
The MoU was signed by Chairman of the OIC Humanitarian Funds, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Dhreima Executive Director Mariam bint Ali Al Misnad.
This MoU comes within the framework of expanding the base of integration in humanitarian work and partnership with international and regional institutions, developing joint capacities between the two parties, broadening the base of work and establishing joint projects.
The MoU includes cooperation in the areas of developing and building the capacities of the employees, cooperation between the two sides in holding lectures and workshops for target groups in the Center aiming to enhance their self-confidence, addressing the psychological problems and obstacles they suffer, and raising awareness among the community about how to deal with them in line with the mission of Dherima.
Commenting on the occasion, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Thani expressed pleasure to sign such a partnership with one of the leading local centres in Qatar, which serves one of the most important target groups of social work.
He pointed out that integration in humanitarian work is a necessity for success and that the support of humanitarian funds for institutions serving the most needy groups is an essential objective of their work.
Mariam bint Ali Al Misnad said that cooperation between Dhreima and regional and international institutions working in the same field is one of the strategic objectives of the Center for the continuous building of capacities and the development of work methods and projects which should be in line with the changes in the progressive development in the field of humanitarian work.
'Dhreima' will launch a variety of activities this week to mark the Arab Orphan Day. Activities will include awareness and recreational programmes under the slogan "We All Complete Each Other".
