Athaya Putri and Sarah Abourakbah’s (pictured) film titled Perfect was recently nominated for an award at the THIMUN Qatar Northwestern Film Festival held annually in Doha, Qatar.
Athaya Putri and Sarah Abourakbah’s film covers the insecurities teenagers face in their life whether it is about grades, body image or having low self-esteem. The movie shows that people may seem great on the outside but may feel out of place or scared on the inside. Lead by the words of high school students that age from fourteen to fifteen, this film is sure to provide you a new way of looking at the human society and what it means to be “perfect.”
When asked about being selected for the film festival, the filmmakers’ stated: “We are really ecstatic and feel honored that our piece was nominated.” They were in a state of shock at first but then let the actual reality of being selected sink in. They believe that they will learn so much from this journey and that is will be a great opportunity for the both of them.
This year’s festival will be held from April 2-4, 2015.The Peninsula
