Dubai: Fresh blasts were heard across the Gulf cities of Dubai, Doha and Manama on Sunday morning after Iran targeted territories in retaliation for US and Israeli strikes.

AFP reporters heard blasts in Dubai, in the UAE, in Doha, Qatar, and in Manama, Bahrain.

Al Jazeera reported air sirens blared in Kuwait as retaliatory attacks continued.

Iran confirms killing of Mousavi and Nasirzadeh: Al Jazeera

Al Jazeera quoted the official IRNA agency confirmed that the chief of the staff of the Armed Forces, Abdul Rahim Mousavi, and Minister of Defense Aziz Nasirzadeh have been killed in the US-Israel attacks on Iran on Saturday.

Iran has also confirmed the killing of Khamenei, his security adviser, Ali Shamkhani, as well as IRGC commander-in-chief Mohammad Pakpour.

IRNA said more commanders of the armed forces were also killed and that their names will be announced later.

Fire at Industrial Area in Qatar contained: MOI

The Ministry of Interior has announced the presence of Civil defense personnel at the Industrial Area following a fire resulting from the fall of shrapnel after intercepting a missile.

No life was lost and no injury was recorded.

Earlier in the morning, there was an early alert warning advising the public to stay at home and to follow official safety instructions and remain cautious.

Qatar Airways flights remain temporarily suspended, further update on March 2

Qatar Airways has announced that it will resume operations once the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority confirms the safe reopening of Qatari airspace. 

It added that a further update will be provided on March 02 by 9am Doha time (06:00 UTC). 

The national carrier advised passengers to monitor the latest flight information via http://qatarairways.com or the Qatar Airways mobile app.

Jordan intercepts missiles, IRGC announces sixth wave of attacks 

Al Jazeera Arabic reported that Jordanian defence systems have intercepted missiles that entered the capital Amman’s airspace, as well as northern areas.

It also added that IRGC announced a sixth wave of attacks on Israel and what it says are 27 US bases in the Middle East following the assassination of the country’s supreme leader and top security officials.

Trump warns Iran against hitting ‘very hard today’

Trump has just issued a new statement on his Truth Social media app, warning Iran against hitting back.

“Iran just stated that they are going to hit very hard today, harder than they have ever been hit before,” the US president wrote.

“They better not do that, however, because if they do, we will hit them with a force that has never been seen before!”

Qatar warns individuals to remain indoors in emergency alert

Qatari authorities renewed a national emergency alert urging the public to remain at home or in safe locations and avoid going out except in cases of necessity until the danger has passed.

It said, "All individuals are required to remain at home or in a safe place and not to go out except in cases of extreme necessity until the danger has passed." 

The alert reiterated calls for residents to follow official safety instructions and remain cautious.

Ministry of Interior announces 8 new injuries resulting from Iranian attack

As part of the continuous monitoring of field developments, the Ministry of Interior confirmed that security authorities and Civil Defence teams, in coordination with relevant entities, immediately activated approved response plans to safeguard public safety, ensure continuity of services and maintain full readiness to address any emergency. Iran announces killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei

Iran announced at dawn Sunday the killing of Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, in the aftermath of Israeli and American airstrikes on various Iranian regions.

The Iranian News Agency (IRNA) reported today that Khamenei was killed in an attack launched by the Israeli military and the United States on Saturday morning, without providing additional details regarding the circumstances of his death. Read more
