Doha will host on Sunday a meeting of the Gulf committee for elderly care, which is chaired by the State of Qatar.
The Committee will discuss several important issues, particularly presentations by member states on the national strategy and the implementation plan for the elderly care, as well as the preparation of the Gulf unified plan for the elderly care in light of the global strategy and plan of action on "aging and health" adopted by the World Health Assembly in May 2016.
The meeting will also review the thirty-fifth recommendation on elderly care issued by the 84th meeting of the executive body of the GCC Health Council in Riyadh, and the seventh recommendation on elderly care issued by the 85th meeting of the executive body in Riyadh.
