Doha, Qatar: The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (Daam) has signed a financing agreement with the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) to support the 17th edition of the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi) 2026.
The festival is held from January 1 to 24, 2026, at Sabkhat Marmi in Sealine.
Under this agreement, Daam will contribute financial support to cover the festival's championships and challenges.
This agreement underscores the pioneering role played by Daam and the shareholding companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange in supporting cultural activities, in alignment with the Qatar National Vision 2030. It further reflects the nobility and authenticity of Qatar's falconry and hunting heritage.
The Marmi Championship includes competitions across various categories, such as: "Al-Tala'a", which is dedicated to falcon hunting of Houbara; "Al Da'u", a speed race between falcons consisting of multiple rounds; in addition to "Hadad Al Tahadi", featuring competition between Shaheen falcons and racing pigeons.
It also includes the Saluki Race, the Promising Falconer Championship, and the "Al Mazayin" falcon beauty Championship, a heritage contest that evaluates falcons in terms of beauty and appearance according to several criteria, as well as other competitions that attract strong participation from young falconers and are eagerly anticipated by the public.
On the final day, results are calculated, and valuable cash prizes are awarded to winners across all categories.
Since its inception in 2010, Daam has laid the foundation for many vital projects and initiatives in the social, sport and cultural fields, and the contributions of companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange are considered among Fund's most important financial resources, making them an essential partner in achieving sustainable community development.
